A Day in the Life of Gizmo

I know a lot of humans wonder what a cat who is the assistant manager of the Cat Hospital of Austin does all day long.  Mom (the one that wears the white coat and calls herself Dr.) gave me this opportunity to tell you why my job at the Cat Hospital is so important.

Basically, I start my day off by making sure the laundry gets done.  As you can see this is an important but tedious task.

Next, I need to inspect the hospital for cleanliness.  Since this is a place where diseases are treated, I like to make sure that none of my sick friends pass their illness onto other cats.  I conduct a very careful inspection of every nook and cranny.

Part of my inspection even includes making sure the windows are clean.  Since I have been so busy all morning, I usually use this time to take a nap.

The most important part of my day is helping Mom (Dr. Percival).  She wouldn’t know what to do without me.  I mean, who else is going to hold down her computer keyboard and make sure all the little buttons work.  I even help her type a little, but she says my big paws hit too many of the keys.  These paws make it easy for me to hold her fingers and make sure she is typing in the right letters.

I even need to look over her shoulder and make sure everything gets entered properly.

There is also a lot of filing that needs to be done.  I typically point to the right drawer when needed.

Since all of this has taken up most of the day, I start the cleanliness inspection again, but generally just end up taking a nap right here.
