Greg adopted Minnie from a
pet store in College Station, TX in 1988. Dr. P. actually picked her
out at the pet store because she was the loudest and most active kitten in
the litter. She was only about 8 weeks old when she was adopted.
Tigger and Minnie quickly became playmates and were the original two cats
in the Percival household. In 1995, Dr. Percival noticed a
pea-shaped nodule between Minnie’s shoulder blades that needed to be
surgically removed. A biopsy told us that the lump was a
vaccine-associated fibrosarcoma (more information about this is available
in our library). Fortunately, the tumor was completely removed and
has not grown back in the past 5 years. Occasionally, if Minnie is
standing in the right light, her hair appears a darker color in the area
of her surgery. One of the exam rooms at the Cat Hospital of Austin
is named for her.
